X-15 ROCKET CRAFT DAMAGED.—Firemen and United States Air Force technicians working on the X-15 rocket ship as it lies on the Mojave Desert, California, after an emergency landing on November 5. The fuselage broke open a few feet behind the cockpit. The test pilot, Mr Scott Crossfield, was not injured. The landing was “quick and hard” after a fuel explosion in theb air.
