CANBERRA, November 12. The Minister for Immigration (Mr Alexander Downer) announced today that nearly 34,000 British assisted migrants will have left Britain for Australia in 1959 —the highest for any year since 1952. Mr Downer said the forecast was based upon actual embarkation and fifm bookings and on the expectation that 250 British immigrants would travel to Australia by air between October and December.
