(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MOSCOW, October 10.
A prominent Russian scientist, Vladimir Siforov, claimed today that United States scientists had boasted of the “talkativeness” of their satellite, Vanguard I.
He said: “Powered with solar batteries, it has been broadcasting without stopping for a year now. At first this w-as regarded as an achievement, but now Vanguard I has become the plague of American researchers. They are thinking about ways to make it silent, because it interferes W’ith the reception of signals from other satellites.”
