Man Convictetl Of Assault
(New Zealand Press Association/ AUCKLAND, October 12.
Convicted on three charges of assault on an eight-year-old girl, Albert Peetr Rodd, aged 34, a workman, gave an undertaking in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today that he would voluntarily leave New Zealand and return to England. Mr H Jenner Wily, S.M., said he had intended sending Rodd to gaol and recommending his deportation under the recently passed Immigration Act. But in view of his offer to quit the country Rodd would be convicted and ordered to come up for sentence within a month if called on.
