MR K.’s GREY FEDORA
U.S. Docker Rejects 500-Dollar Offer I (N.Z Press Association—Copyright) SAN FRANCISCO, October 11. A waterside worker, Dave Adrian, who acquired a hat belonging to the Soviet Premier (Mr Nikita Khrushchev) in a swap for his white working cap, said today he has rejected a 500dollar (£223) offer for it. Mr Adrian said he not only has been besieged by offers to buy or rent Mr Khrushchev’s grey fedora, but he has also been bothered by attempts to steal it. His car boot was prised open in one theft attempt. Mr Adrian said he intended to keep it even “if many people 11 owe money to wonder why I don’t sell my hat." “This is a symbol.” Mr Adrian said. “I can’t consider it a commercial item, especially as hei (Mr Khrushchev) said he'd keep I my cap as a cherished memento.”
