Congratulations From Peking LONDON, October 12. Communist China has told Mr Khrushchev in a message that, his visit to the United States "constitutes an enormous contribution to the relaxation of world tension and to the defence of peace in the whole world,” Moscow Radio announced. The message—from Government and party leaders and addressed to President Klementi Voroshilov and Mr Khrushchev—also expressed thanks for Soviet congratulations on the tenth anniversary of the Chinese People’s Republic. It added: “We are profoundly convinced that the enormous task which the Soviet people have set themselves, that of catching up with and outstripping the most developed capitalist countries in peaceful competition with capitalism, will certainly be implemented shortly.” It also expressed gratitude for Soviet support and assistance and added that “the victory of the Chinese revolution and successes in the building of socialism are inseparable from the fraternal support and assistance on the part of the Soviet people,” the radio said.
