PUBLIC NOTICES CATHEDRAL OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT A MISSION October 11 to October 25 Preached by the Redemptorist Fathers HOLY'MASS— Sundays—6. 7. 8,9, 10, 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. Week Days—6, 7, 8 a.m. and 12.10 p.m, DEVOTIONS— Week Days, 7.30 p.m. All are invited to hear the teaching of the Catholic Church. 2975 SELWYN COUNTY COUNCIL BL-LAW No. 2 CONTROL OF DOGS FIRST NOTICE PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers conferred on it by “The Counties Act, 1956,” "The Health Act. 1956,” and "The Dogs Registration Act, 1955” and all other powers and authorities vested in it, the Selwyn County Council at a Special Meeting held in the Council Chambers, Hororata, on Tuesday, the 22nd of September, 1959, resolved by way of Special Order to make the following by-law:— 1. This By-law may be cited as the Selwyn County By-law No. 2, 1959.
2, The owner of any’ dog or the person having for the time being control of any dog within the County of Selwyn shall cause such dog to be tied up or otherwise confined during the period commencing from half an hour after sunset on any day to half an hour befor sunrise on the following day.
3. No dog shall be deemed to be tied up or confined within the meaning of this By-law unless such dog is so tied up or confined as to completely prevent it from straying from the property of the owner or person having control as aforesaid. 4. No person shall suffer any dog owned by him or in his charge to be upon any footpath abounding or abutting any shop premises within the County of Selwyn unless such dog is kept under continuous control while thereon by an effective lead or container.
5. No person owning,, having control, or charge of any mangy or diseased dog, or any female dog in season, shall take the same into any public place or permit or suffer such dog to enter or remain thereon or wander free and at large.
6. Every person who shall commit any breach of this By-law shall be liable for every such offence to a penalty of Ten Pounds (£10). This By-law shall come into force on the 17th day of November, 1959.
A full copv of the above Bylaw is deposited at the Council Office, Hororata, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until November 9, 1959. Tlie Special Order will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers. Hororata, at 7.30 pin. on Monday, November 9, 1959.
