Dividend Requirement Almost Doubled NZ <Ksx<x*f(itlon- Lnjmnufil MELBOURNE, October 2. Ansett Transport Industries. Ltd., today announced a profit of £501,987 almost doubling the steady 10 per cent, dividend requirement. A new one-for-five ordinary issue at par is also announced, to raise £720,000. Today's statement gives the comparable profit for the previous year to June as £419,360. A year ago it was announced as £519,700, but that included £100,340 dividends from preacquisition profits of subsidiaries. Australian National Airways was taken over by Ansett in October, 1957. A new one-for-three issue was made between December and March last, raising £491.000. Latest result is after £1,429.548 for depreciation ( previous £1,041,602) and income tax £44,735 (£40.368). It includes £3235 (£7878) from sale of fixed assets.

Dividend requirement is £269.148, including £35,000 on 4,200,000 5s shares from March 1 issued to Guinea Holdings, Ltd., shareholders.

Half-yearly preference dividend will be paid on October 31. An extraordinary meeting will be held on November 30 to raise nominal capital from £5 million to £25 million.
