GIN INDUSTRY’S PROGRESS

Mr Boord Finds Questions “Difficult” (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. “I would suggest waiting till the appropriate bill comes down,” said the Minister of Customs (Mr Boord) in the House of Representatives today to Mr N. L. Shelton (Opposition, Rangitikei), who asked what progress had been made with the establishment of a gin industry in New Zealand. “It is difficult to answer questions because the person responsible for negotiating on behalf of the Government is outside the House,” said Mr Boord. Mr Shelton: Has agreement been reached with the Government so far as excise duty is concerned? Mr Boord: I would suggest waiting till the appropriate bill comes down.
