Lunik
Sir.—Scientists tell us the entropy of the universe is increasing. and this implies that disorder increases everywhere. Therefore. “Hail Science” is unjustified in saying that evolution orders herself sufficiently to pick mathematicians in orie era and musicians, poets, and engineers in others. His statements are not in accord with experience, either, for men today are no more scientifically minded than those of ancient days. A Lunik or jet aircraft is not as useful as a wheel or chisel. So what evidence has he to say that we are in a new age? People have advanced eversince created (or evolved, if he prefers) and if sending a moon rocket away constitutes “advance,” this is only to be expected rather than worshipped and heralded “a new era.” —Yours, etc., D.I.S.
