STEEL TROPHY GAME

A Rugby match between Albion (Christchurch) and Star (Greymouth) will be played at Rugby Park on Saturday for the Jack Steel Memorial Trophy. It will be the second year that the two clubs have met with the trophy at stake.

The trophy, which stands 2ft 6in high, commemorates Mr Jack Steel, who was killed in a’motor accident some years ago. Mr Steel played for both Albion and Star during his Rugby career and represented New Zealand from 1920 to 1924. The match on Saturday commences at 1 p.m.
