League COMPETITION FOR WORLD CUP
Suggested Fixture Next Year (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept 17. A Kiwi League team may go to England sooner than expected—for the World Cup competition next September. The Kiwis will tour England and France the following year. The English Rugby League Council has written to the New Zealand Rugby League asking for its views on a third World Cup competition next September. The previous two competitions were held in France and Australia. The English council’s letter said that from its point of view May was preferable to September, but a suitable May could not be found unless there was an alteration to the agreed cycle of tours. The only suitable alternative was September next year.
