WATERPROOF FUR
Demonstration At Auckland
Until recently fur trimming on a raincoat would have seemed ridiculous, but now, reports the “New Zealand Draper and Allied Retailer,” a process has been evolved to waterproof fur. At a recent demonstration in Auckland water flowed off the treated fur leaving no trace of having been there.
These raincoats come in white gold, bamboo, Italian red, frosted green, sapphire and china blue. White gold, a creamy colour, is reported to be very popular in England. There is a choice of fur for the trimming. Best-selling furs overseas are Hungarian lamb (a silvery parchment), lynx (a creamy brown) and beaver lamb (black).
The coats are lined with fleecy white wool for winter, satin for spring and summer. They are made of waterproofed cotton and come in styles which can be worn t loose, gathered or belted.
