Copies of the provisional Scheme have been deposited at this Office and the Offices of the Springs County Council, Springston and the Paparua County Council, Sockburn, Christchurch. CLOSED FIRE SEASON IN THE WAITAKI SOIL CONSERVATION DISTRICT PURSUANT to Forest and Rural Fires Act, 1947, the lighting of fires in the open air is prohibited throughout the whole of the Waitaki Soil Conservation District as from Mid-day, September 14, 1959. This prohibition cancels all existing permits to burn but does not apply to well constructed camp fire-places situated 10 feet from trees or other combustible material. (Grass and other combustible materia] must be cleared for 10 feet around the fireplace and fires completely extinguished before leaving the site.)
