The leader of the Opposition United Party (Sir de Villiers Graaff) said last night that the South African Government's Bantustan policy was impossible and would mean the end of South Africa as at present known. Speaking at a meeting, he said the bantustan policy provided for the establishment of eight independent black states on South Africa’s eastern seabeard and on the north and northeastern borders. “They (the Government) hope these black states will remain friendly, yet they are destroying the one link that might have kept| them friendly -there will be noj representation for them in the! central Parliament of South! Africa.” Sir de Villiers Graaff, said. I The policy, if implemented. | would mean that these indepen-i dent states would be free to make treaties with any country in the world, including Commupist States, he said.
