Westland Retains Dittman Shield (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH. Sept. 13. Westland successfully defended the Dittman Shield in a challenge match with Grey mouth at Cass square, Hokitika, on Saturday afternoon, the score being 14 points to 8. R. D. Alexander and M. Gooch scored tries for Westland. Alexander converted one and also kicked two penalty goals. B. Vieceli scored two tries for Greymouth, C. Hibbs converting one. Friendly Matches Two friendly senior grade matches were played at Rugby Park, Greymouth. on Saturday afternoon between Greymouth and Christchurch teams. Greymouth Marist beat Christchurch Marist by 23 points to 3, and Cobden beat Sunnyside-Sprey-don by 19 points to 11. In a fifth grade match at Victoria Park, Greymouth. Blaketown beat Sydenham by 16 points to 3.
