ARMED MEN IN STOLEN CAR
Police Search In North Island
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. September 13. North Island police tonight were searching for two men in a stolen car. Both were armed with .303 rifles.
On Saturday night they converted a car from Thames and also broke into a shop and stole a number of rifles and a quantity of ammunition. A set of registration plates were also stolen from a car parked in a Thames street. Between 11 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. today, another car was stolen from Taupo. This car has not been seen since.
It is thought that the wanted men, who were seen in Thames during the early hours of Saturday morning, are also in possession of this vehicle.
