Linwood Rugby Club Ball
The Linwood Rugby Union Football Club held its annual “Green and Black” ball at the Mayfair Lounge last evening. The hall was decorated with streamers of green and black, and there was spring blossom round the band dais.
About 300 guests were welcomed by the president (Mr W. J. Cowles) and Mrs Cowles, and the secretary (Mr D. W. Wilson) and Mrs Wilson
Specially-invited guests included the patron (Mr H. Davis) and Mrs Davis: Mr J. O. Hattersley, of the Canterbury Rugby Football Union, and Mrs Hattersley; and representatives from the Canterbury Rugby Referees’ Association, the Junior Advisory Board, and other kindred associations
Decorations were arranged by the women’s committee. The ball committee comprised Mesdames H. McDonald and H. Prouting. Messrs W. J. Cowles (chairman), D. W. Wilson (secretary), J. Kirkpatrick. H. McDonald, J Storey, P. Walker, I. Mitche.l, and G. Stove.
