COUNTRY PLAYERS’ COACHING

N.Z. Council Subsidy

Country- cricketers in Canterbury will, in the coming season, almost certainly have an opportunity of receiving coaching from the Canterbury Cricket Association’s official coach, M. J. Bear, of Essex.

At a meeting of the association's Management committee the New Zealand Cricket Council advised that it was willing to grant subsidies of £3 to £2, up to a limit of £lOO, towards the cost of sending country players in for coachjng, the number of players to be approved by the council’s executive committee in Christchurch.

The Victory Park Board wrote giving the association permission to lay, at its own cost, a practice wicket under the embankment at Lancaster Park.
