Early Bookings.— Persons are already making bookings to cross Foveaux Strait from Bluff to Stewart Island at the Labour Day week-end and Christmas. This is the latest development in the shipping crisis that has arisen since the Government vessel Wairua was condemned some weeks ago and replaced by the Westport tug, the James O’Brien, which can carry 10 passengers.— (P.A.)
