Kelp Scratched In Cup
Kelp was scratched yesterday, for the Ashburton Cup. the first leg of the double, at the Ashburton County Racing Club's first spring meeting tomorrow. An attack of colic which prevented the Beaumaris five-year-old from galloping on Monday was still troubling him yesterday morning. The only other scratchings for the meeting posted by last evening were Eargain (Longbeach Hack Hurdles) and Jesse Owens (Flying Handicap). Jesse Owens will run in the Ashburton Cup.
