Mounts Offered To Williamson

A leading Victorian jockey, W. Williamson, just back from a successful visit to Malaya, has the choice of two leading mounts in the Caulfield Cup on October 17. They ate the New Zealand mare Routine and the New Zealand-bred winner of the 1958 Caulfield Cup, Sir Blink. Williamson will ride Routine in her first Australian race—the Chesterfield Handicap—at Moonee Valley on Saturday.
He will oe offered the ride on Sir Blink In the Memsie Stakes or the Heatherlie Handicap at Caulfield on September 5. Williamson will discuss his cup mount with the trainers in the next few days. ' I will be guided by how Routine and Sir Blink go in the next couple of weeks. It's a happy position to be in having two good mounts offered at this stage," Williamson said.
Mrs W. M Kellett, part-owner of Sir Blink, said today that Williamson was offered the mount on Sir Blink during the spring before he went io Malaya.
