Club Discusses Proposal

The proposed use of brakes on caravans was discussed at the annual meeting of the Automobile Association, Canterbury, Caravan Club. A number of recommendations to the Transport Department on caravan brakes were drafted by the meeting. A combined rally at Waimate last Easter had been an outstanding success, reported the retiring

president (Mr D. W. Thomas). Three Automobile Association Clubs from Canterbury, South Canterbury, and Otago had attended. Altogether there were 71 caravans and 264 persons at the rally.

Officers elected were: Patron. Mr J. W. Thomas; president. Mr K. Noonan; vice-president, Mr B. T. Cocks; secretary, Mr *W. H. Thomas; treasurer, Mr W. E. Mappiebeck; committee. Messrs C. R.* Cardwell, R. E. Flewellen, D. C. Fox, A. J. Ragg, R. W. Wilson, W. M. Wright; ex-officio, Mr E. R. Casbolt; auditor, Mr J. N. Westgarth; joint editors “Rally Ragg,” Messrs A. J. Ragg and W. M. Wright.
