Nelson, will receive tenders for the purchase of standing trees in Golden Downs State Forest, situated in Gordon Survey District. Nelson Land District. One lot of trees is offered for sale comprising standing Radiata Pine Trees to be thinned and logged by the successful tenderer in specified compartments of the forest amounting to 200,000 cubic feet. All logs will be measured inside bark by the Forest Service. The time for removal is twelve months from the commencement of cutting. The Upset Price is £1670. Tenders, which must be in writing and accompanied by a cheque to yield £4OO deposit plus £3 document fees, will be received at the office of the Conservator of Forests, Nelson, not later than Noon on Monday, September 21, 1959. The envelope is to be marked “Tender for Golden Downs Timber —Ref. 35/4.” Tenderers are advised that upon formal acceptance of their tender, a period of three months will be required by the New Zealand Forest Service to prepare logging roads in the area for the removal of timber by the licensee.
