MISSING CAR RECOVERED
Fast Work By Police Smart work by detectives of the Criminal Investigation Branch of the Central Police Station last evening resulted in two youths being apprehended in a converted car one hour and 40 minutes after it had been reported missing. The youths were interviewed at the Central Police Station and were later taken to their homes. It is not known whether charges will be laid.
The car, a recent small English model, was first reported missing from St. Asaph street about 8 p.m. Investigations made showed that the car had been seen in the city with three youths in it. Constable D. Dunley, of the Criminal Investigation Branch, was on a car patrol in Armagh street about 9.40 p.m. when he sighted the missing car, overtook it and stopped the youths who said that they had gone for a “joy-ride.” The car was recovered undamaged.
