LICENCE RENEWAL REFUSED

Application By Mulley

N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) MELBOURNE, August 17.

The Sydney jockey, Athol Mulley, today had his application to ride again in races refused by the Victoria Racing Club committee. Mulley and a Brisbane bookmaker, Tom Mamey, were stood down by the Victoria Racing Club last September over the running of the 9/4 favourite Cambridge in the 1956 Australian Cup. On July 31 this year Mulley made a written application to the Victoria Racing Club asking for his licence back. His request was considered at the V.R.C. committee meeting today. The V.R.C. secretary, Mr K. A. Morrison, refused to comment on the refusal.
