Podola For Trial.— Guenther Fritz Podola, a 30-year-old German - born photographer, charged with the murder of Detective-Sergeant Raym on d Purdy on July 13, was today committed for trial at the Old Bailey on September 8. —London, August 14.
World Bank Loans.— The World Bank has announced approval of loans to Persia for the development of private industry and to Pakistan for the expansion of electric power stations in Karachi. Persia will get 5.250,000 dollars and Pakistan 2.500.000 dollars.—New York, August 15.
Graveney Fit Again.—Gloucestershire's cricket captain. Tom Graveney. who has not played since he fractured his little linger against Kent on July 10, expects to resume next week. —London, August 15.
