LAND TRANSFER REFUSED

Broadfields To Stay In Paparua

The Local Government Commission has advised the Paparua and Springs County Councils that it has dismissed an application made through the Springs County Council for a small part of rural Paparua in the Broadfields area to be transferred to the Springs county.

“The Paparua County Council is strongly opposed to any minor boundary adjustments and proposes in preference that the commission brings down a scheme for the amalgamation of the two counties.” said the chairman of the Paparua County Council (Mr J. H. Weaver).

The commission had reported it Jiad called for the preparation of a draft provisional scheme for that purpose, he said.
