Situation.—A trough of low pressure is approaching from the Tasman Sea. Forecast: West Coast.—Moderate to fresh northerly winds, backing westerly; weather overcast, with rain; becoming changeable and showery after the wind change; temperatures moderate to cool. Outlook: showery. Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh northerly to westerly winds; weather mainly cloudy, with occasional light showers; temperatures moderate. Outlook: mainly fair. Marlborough and Nelson.—Moderate to strong northerly winds, tending westerly in the afternoon; a period of rain in the morning, becoming fair late in the day except for showers in the ranges; temperatures moderate to cool. Outlook: mainly fair.
