Dalgetys In East Africa

Dalgety and Company, Ltd., of London, who are also established in Australia and New Zealand, are making a take-over bid for shares of the £lOO.OOO African Mercantile Company, it was announced in Nairobi today, American Associated Press reported.

The African Mercantile Company holds important East African agencies, including that of the Dunlop Rubber Company, and imports jute, iron and steel products, building materials, aluminium products, wines, beers and spirits.

Shareholders controlling 75 per cent, of the Mercantile shares have accepted the Dalgety offer, the announcement said.
