Radiata pine used as ceiling and roof lining in a house designed by Mr D. A. Cowie for a Christchurch hill site. The pine strips continue past the wall to the underside of the veranda roof. The roof boarding was dressed out of 1½in thick timber tongued and grooved together. The underside of the timber is the finished ceiling which contrasts with the darker timber beams.
