“DOGGIE IN THE WINDOW"
Pet’s Comfortable Life
Christchurch has a real “doggie in the window.” Franz, a dachshund belonging to Mrs G. E. Hodgkinson, the owner of a small wardrobe service in the city, gets lonely when she has to go out. So he sits in the window of the shop and watches the passers-by until she returns. Many persons seeing him there, have thought that the dog was just a plaster toy, but Franz, or. to give him his full name, Count Von Luckner, is very real indeed, and is just like a child in habits. He has his box full of toys, and one particular rubber doll he wraps up in a blanket when the weather gets cold Mrs Hodgkinson said that he loves toys and will not go past one particular shop nearby until he has gone in to have a look around or has a toy bought for him. Franz sleeps on a very comfortable bed, has knitted jackets to wear, goes for his daily walk every evening, and generally leads a very comfortable dog’s life.
