SET-BACK FOR LIONS

Scotland Unfit For Test

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. August 12.

The Lions have had a further set-back in their plans for the second test at Athletic Park on Saturday. The full-back, K. J. F. Scotland, who was likely to be outside half in place of the injured A. B. W. Risman, will be unable to play for at least two weeks.

Scotland suffered a heavy knock on the leg in Tuesday’s match against Manawatu-Horowhenua at Palmerston North. At that time it was not thought it would be serious enough to prevent him from playing in the test.

D. Hewitt, who w’as centre in both tests in Australia and again in the first test with New Zealand at Dunedin, is not available for selection because of an injury suffered at Wanganui. G. H. Waddell, the team’s utility back, is also unlikely to be available for selection. He was kicked on the leg towards the end of the Taranaki match. The Lions’ test team is now expected to be announced after a secret training run tomorrow. The All Blacks assembled early this afternoon, and had a training session at the Hutt Recreation Ground. Dr. D. H. Craven will have a close look at an All Black side again tomorrow. He is expected to attend a New Zealand training session at Athletic Park. His last view of a New Zealand side was in the dramatic fourth test at Auckland in 1956.
