Winter Sports Tournament
More than 600 boys and girls from the secondary departments of district high schools of Canterbury competed in Rugby and basketball at their annual winter tournament held at South Haeley Park this week. Schools from Cheviot, Akaroa, Lincoln, Methven, Kaikoura, New Brighton, Oxford, Darlield, Southbridge and Hawarden competed Results were:— Rugby Finals.—Open 10-a-slde: Lincoln 11, Akaroa 0. Open 7-a-side: Oxford A 11, Lincoln B 0. Under Bst 71b 10-a-side: Darfield 11. Lincoln A 0. Under Bst 71b 7-a-side: Akaroa 11, Lincoln 0. Basketball Finals.—A grade: Hawarden A beat Kaikoura. B grade: Hawarden B beat Hawarden
