ADDITIONS TO NEW SCHOOLS

Tenders Called By Board

Four additional classrooms for each of three existing fourroomed new schools are the subject of tenders now being called by the Canterbury Education Board, and another established school will have two more rooms. All four contracts are designed to meet still growing populations in the outer north-west to northeast suburbs. The Brookside Terrace School, Bryndwr, will have its first four rooms ready for occupation next term and four more will be ready next year. The Tuckers Road School. Northcote, has four rooms nearing completion and these, with the four out at tender, will all be used when the school opens next year. The Briggston School (Briggs road) has four rooms in use and four more will be built for next year. Two more classrooms are planned for the Banks Avenue School, Shirley.
