Southland won the soccer semifinal for the Peter Dawson Cup on Saturday, beating North Otago, 7-1. Southland now plays Nelson in the final at Nelson on August 2
Six of Southland's goals came from the centre forward. J. Hurst, playing his first representative match for Southland.
