Total investments with the Totalisator Agency Board for the four race meetings on Saturday amounted to £360,072 ss. This total was made up of win and place hets amounting to £181,573, and £178,499 5s was invested on doubles. Although the Thames trotting meeting was an additional fixture this year, compared with the three galloping meetings only on the corresponding day last year, the total turnover dropped by £ 1848 TSS. Details of the totalisator turnovers for the week-end are:— 6n-course: up £8156. -2S: c ?J? rse: £123,089 15s, down £3730 15s. Thames On-course: £24,811. no corresponding meeting last year. Off-course: £25,787 ss, no corresponding meeting last year. Wellington On-course: £181,300. down £16,018 10s. Off-course: £173.163 10s, down los Timaru On-course: £25,930, down £6227. Off-course: £38.031 • 15s. down £8707 Ids The total investments on-course for the two days of the Avondale meeting amounted to £214,422 ss. a decrease of £12,531 on last year’s fisu£ e - The off-course total at £297,858 5s showed an Increase of £50,049 on tast year. Both on and off-course figures were down tor the two-day meeting at Washdvke. The total handled oncourse this year was £50.830, a decrease of £17,395. and the off-course at £89.094 5s was down by £4317 10s. Off-course substitutes for Saturday were:— Avondale: Sir Goodwin. Thames: Donna-Some Lad bracket. Wellington: (for Bunyarra), Switzerland; (for Disarm), Sarina. Timaru: none required.
