PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION

Mr Duff Appointed Representative Mr D. C. Duff has been appointed Public Service Commission representative and senior inspector in Christchurch. Mr Duff is at present an investigating officer in the Christchurch district office of the Ministry of Works. Mr Duff joined the public service as a clerical cadet in the Public Works Department, and has served in the Dunedin, Christchurch, Central Otago, To Kuiti and Temuka district offices

of the department For a short period in 1958 he was chief inspector in the head office of the Ministry of Works, Wellington. Mr Duff is a graduate of Canterbury University, a membar of the Institute of Valuers and a member of the Society of Accountants. In World War II he served five years with, the Royal Air Force in the Far East and was a prisoner of war in a Japanese camp for three years and a half. A Rugby enthusiast, Mr Duft was a prominent menfber of the Dunedin Pirates Club. He has also played in Canterbury, South Canterbury and in the King Country. In 1941 he captained the R.A.F. team in Malaya. He is a brother of R. H. Duff, of Christchurch, who captained the All Blacks against the Springboks in 1956. A new church in Oslo, Norway, established a soft drink bar under the organ loft.
