Canterbury Holds Trophy
Scoring a substantial 19-9 lead in the first round, the Canterbury Indoor Bowling representative team set the pattern for the final round and gave the province its twelfth successive defence of the A. S. Paterson Trophy. Canterbury won this challenge match against South Canterbury, 33-23, ‘with: 'a points lead of 250 to 195. ~ ; " The Canterbury selectors had experimented with the team that played on Saturday by Introducing many new players and all the new selections played their part well, combining for an unbeaten record in the rinks. Watersiders Still In Lead Although Lyttelton Watersiders still hold the lead in the Hay Trophy tournament matches, two other teams, Kaiapoi Working Men’s Club and Phillipstown B are only one, point behind, with the A.N.Z. Bank next in line one point behind these two.
