Charge Against Ship’s Master

(Rec. 10 pjn.) PERTH, July f An adjournment Was granted when a charge alleging that lifeboats aboard the immigrant vessel, Montserrat, were faulty, came before the Fremantle Court today. Captain Raphaele Jaume did not appear in Court to answer the charge that as master of the Montserrat, he had failed to keep life-saving appliances carried pn the ship fit and ready for use. contrary to the Navigation Act. The case was adjourned until Tuesday next. The Montserrat brought 830 Greek and Spanish immigrants to Australia.
