Senior Detective-Sergeant C. P. Smeaton has been recommended for promotion to inspector and transfer from New Plymouth to the Christchurch Central Police Station. He will replace Chief Inspector C. H. Reardon, who is now in charge of the Timaru police district. Mr D. J. Tucker has been appointed Crown Solicitor at Greymouth in place of Mr F. A. Kitchingham, who has resigned, according to a notice in the Gazette.
