University's Effort
University’s senior Rugby team is making a valiant effort to recover lost ground and- win its fourth successive -championship; today’s gitfWfc is vital to its prospects; 4fte& the fifth round University wS'Tn sixth position, but is now only half a point behind Christchurch. Should University succeed in winning this year’s championship, it would have an excellentchance of equalling the record of five successive wins. ' for next year University may be strengthened by the arrival of several top players from Dunedin. It has been the club’s policy to make changes only when there are vacancies, but if the prospective transfers take place, it will be difficult not to make room for the players, who are the All Black M. W. Irwin, and the Otago representatives H. C. Prain. D. C. Leary, and H. C. Edwards. The University coach, Mr J. D. Stewart, will be going overseas soon, and it is expected that next year the senior side will be coached by the All Black halfback B P Molloy.
