J ’ It Will all be part of the courtesy crusade to begin in Christchurch on July 27 and go on for two weeks. Backing the crusade is the City Council traffic department, the Transport Department and the Christchurch Road Safety Committee. It will be the first time in this country that a road safety campaign has been based on courtesy, but the crusade committee hopes the idea will catch on in other cities and towns. During the crusade courtesywill be emphasised by radio, newspapers, posters, bumper bar stickers, window displays and special messages on road safety. Picture theatres will flash safety messages on their screens and mobile cinemas will show films on road safety around the city. Churches will also support the crusade.

K Traffic officers from the City Council traffic department and the Transport Department will explain faults to people not showing the courtesy on the reads they should.
