Less Drunkenness In 1958

A marked decrease in the offence of drunkenness during 1958 is noted by the Commissioner of Police. (Mr W. S. Brown) in his annual report to Parliament. He cited figures showing that the total number of persons convicted of dhmkenness during the y®?* - ™ 404 °- against 5053 in 1957, 4994 in 1956, 5111 in 1955, 5196 in 1954 and 4939 in 1953 The 1958 figure represents 1.74 per 1000 of population.
