Share Issue At 5s Premium, 2 For 7

The United Empire Box Company, Ltd., Wellington, will offer share holders 100,000 new ordinary £1 shares, at 5s premium, on the ratio of two for seven held on August 20. The consent of the Capita! Issues Committee has been obtained.
Present paid up capital is £300,000 in 350.000 ordinary £1 shares and 150.000 cumulative 51 per cent preference shares, participating to 6i per cent Consolidated accounts of the United Empire Box group, covering 15 months for the Empire Box group and 12 months for the United Box group, Show a net profit of £70,492, afte rptovision of £67,602 for depredation and £72,534 for taxation.
As already announced, payment of an ordinary dividend of 9 per cent, is recommended. The participating preference shares become entitled to a final dividend of 4 per cent., making the total preference dividend for the year 6j per cent
1.C.1. Chairman to Retire.—Sir Alexander Fleck, chairman of the Board of Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd., will retire from the board at the end of February next year He will be succeeded as chairman by Mr S P. Chambers, a deputy chairman. Sir Alexander Fleck, who will be 70 in November this year, will have been actively associated with the company and its predecessors for more than 44 years.— (P.A.)
