CUTTANCE BOY IN AUCKLAND
Return To City Tomorrow
(New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 2.
“I am the happiest mother in the world—thanks to God and the people of New Zealand,” said a Christchurch mothei', at Whenuapai Airport tonight. She was Mrs R. Stokes, mother of Warren Cuttance, agefi 18, who returned to New Zealand tonight, after undergoing an operation for a brain tumor in Stockholm, Sweden. The operation was a complete success, said Mrs Stokes. Warren was able to walk from the aircraft to a wheelchair on the tarmac. He was still a little weak, he said, but Professor Olivercroma, who performed the operation, had assured him that he had nothing to worry about.
Mrs Stokes said the brain tumor had not been malignant.
Warren had arrived at Stockholm on a Sunday morning. A preliminary operation was performed immediately, and he was given priority on Monday for a final two and a quarter hour operation. He remained in hospital for nearly a month before starting the journey home. He will fly to Christchurch on Saturday.
