Import Control
Sir,—A fanner with' sterling funds is denied the right to imports utility vehicle; another denied the gift of an outboard motor paid lor in by w relative; a nurse ftippted fa air raids fa England denied the uae of a motorised invalid’s chair, the gift jp ChrWwrch fafasport a car on nversaas funds. Delivery was deliberately held* Up by the Minister <jf Customs when fas officials were agreeable to deliver it It was kept fa Wellfagton so long, some three montin, that ft went rusty and was repainted free of charge by the agents. Strange that delivery could be made after the Budget! The additional cost to me, approximately £l5O. Never have so few robbed so many of so much.—Yours, etc., ZEPHYR. July 2, 1959.
Sir,—Apparently Mr Northtote and Mr Tinniswood are not aware that they belong to the peasantry of the country and consequently are just wasting their time endeavouring to import the vehicles in question. However, I would suggest they use a North Island paper as their medium before giving up. While on the subject of imports, I would strongly adr vise them to try a pot of English raspberry jam procurable from most growers. It really is delicious.—Yours, etc., 1 PEASANT. July 1, 1959.
