“IMPOSSIBLE” is the name given to this sculpture in polished bronze by Maria Martins, of Rio de Janeiro. The work forms part of the exhibition of modern Brazilian art being held at the art gallery in Munich. The 230 works of art are later to be exhibited in other European countries. The tour, designed to portray the current cultural trends in Brazil, is sponsored by the Brazilian Government. On the left is Mr Paola Carneiro, a Brazilian diplomatic official and a member of U.N.E.S.C.O. With him is Professor Ludwig Grote, director-general of the German National Museum, Nuremberg.
