Record Power Load In North Island

<Hau £eaiunu AUCKLAND, July 1. North Island power consumption yesterday was pushed to record heights by the widespread bleak weather. Consumption was 14J381.900 units, well above the previous record of May 26 this

year. The peak demand between 5 p.m. and 5.30 p.m. reached 862,900 kilowatts. The Electricity Department said today that North Island consumption was 14.9 per cent up on that of 1957.
