Drought Relief
No general extension past June 30 has been approved by the Minister of Agriculture (Mr Skinner) for the receipt of applications for drought relief on Banks Peninsula. it was announced yesterday by the Department of Agriculture. Individual cases where special consideration is warranted are to be reported on by the committee and forwarded for representation to the Minister. Payment for farmer cartage is against Government policy and will in no case be approved, the announcement says.
